What began as a modest proposal for a single-storey garage has evolved into a striking new-build home that seamlessly blends traditional materials with contemporary design. Built with a rustic red brick and crowned with classic red clay tiles, the property respects its rural setting while introducing a bold modern twist.

A standout feature is the expansive black-glazed gable, flooding the vaulted living space with natural light and creating a dramatic connection between indoors and out overlooking the garden and beyond into the rolling hills. The result is a bright, airy interior that contrasts beautifully with the home’s warm, textured exterior palette.

Set within Green Belt countryside, the project presented a number of planning challenges, requiring a thoughtful and sensitive approach to both scale and design. The final outcome is a carefully considered dwelling that not only meets these constraints but enhances its surroundings, delivering a contemporary rural home with real architectural presence.
